Definitely not your father's Mrs. Brown

What do you get when you put an innocent clip on YouTube that has generated over 1 million hits and then increases by over 100K at day? A BBC/RTE pilot, obviously. Dublin comedian Brendan O’Carroll created the short piece based on his Mrs. Brown character for the BBC as a “test”. While the pilot was produced and aired on RTE in Ireland earlier this year, the BBC has commissioned a full series, Mrs. Brown’s Boys , to be filmed this coming summer and slated for a 2010-2011 broadcast. Definitely not to be confused with the Dame Judi Dench portrayal of Queen Victoria, O’Carroll’s Mrs. Brown is being touted by the BeeB as “Dame Edna meets the Royle Family meets Father Ted“. Sounds like a pitch right out of Robert Altman’s The Player.

From the pilot episode, you be the judge…
