Even I can't make this one up….

Seems as though every couple of months we run across the ultimate British comedy collectable. If it wasn’t the Daleks from Doctor Who, it was a church featured in a past Doctor Who episode that was put up for sale. Now comes probably not the ultimate collectable, but perhaps the most oddly interesting collectable from the series, Blackadder.

As reported in the Telegraph, Sir Edmund Blackadder’s codpiece goes on the auction block (thankfully, Tim McInnerny, Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson in the second series of Blackadder - Tony Robinson interview for the reissue of Blackaddernot the chopping block) this week. The “piece” will be only one of a number of items put up for sale as part of Cameo Auctioneers’ sale of TV and Film Costumes, to be held in Midgham, Berkshire, this weekend. If this isn’t quite your type of collectable, fans of Monty Python and the Holy Grail can bid for several helmets worn in the 1975 film which include helmets worn by knights in the Knights of the Round table song at Camelot. In addition to much more from the British comedy, Blackadder, there will also be items from the 1986 film, Highlander, and the 1999 James Bond film, The World is Not Enough.

Like I said, I can’t make this stuff up.  Happy bidding.
