Seems fitting as we landed on this side of the pond fresh from two weeks of interviews for the March 2011 PBS special on British comedy writers that we learned Red Dwarf co-creator and co-writer, Rob Grant will present a two-day comedy writing course at The Comedy School in early October in Camden, London. Grant also worked with Red Dwarf co-creator, Doug Naylor, on the television program Spitting Image.

According to the Red Dwarf homepage, the course will focus on “…sketches, sitcom, radio, TV, practical layout, cunning techniques and career tips”. If you find yourself roaming the Camden area in October with a spare 250 quid and decide to attend, I can’t think of a better way to start that closet British comedy writing career that you’ve always wanted to do.

For those keeping score at home tracking our interviews for the writer’s special, we capped off the two weeks in London with 90 minutes with Dame Judi Dench. To say that everyone in the room was absolutely mesmerized is a gross understatement. What an unbelievable individual. More later.
