John Lennon – a belated 70th b-day remembrance

We’re still a little over a month away from a not-to-be-missed American Masters doc, but since this past Saturday would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday, we thought it was the perfect time to share this recently released preview of the upcoming LENNONYC program on PBS and KERA. For those that may have missed a couple of our earlier mentions, the documentary will air Monday, November 22 on public television stations nationwide as part of the American Masters series.

The primary focus of “LENNONYC” deals with the 1970’s, the years that Lennon, Yoko Ono and son, Sean, left London for the last time and spent the remainder of his life in the Big Apple. So much of world seemed focused on the break-up of the Beatles, but if you look at this period of time, it produced some of Lennon’s most critically acclaimed music. The documentary shows how Lennon did everything he could to escape Beatlemania to concentrate on his family and private life.

Enjoy now and don’t forget to tune in to KERA or PBS wherever you are on Monday, November 22 for an incredible tribute to the great John Lennon.

IMAGINE.
