Up next for Life on Mars creators…

Word out of the UK has the Life on Mars creators being commissioned to write a series about two angels sent to Earth to become lawyers. Hey, I can’t make this stuff up. The team of Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham will work with Kudos Film and Television (Spooks, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Hustle, The Fixer) to create the six-part series for ITV with a tentative title of Eternal Law (guess Life on Earth was already taken).

According to a recent ITV press release, Eternal Law will be set in the city of York and focus on two central characters, Zak and Tom, who are angels sent to earth to both help a community and try to understand the human condition. The series will follow the “lawyer angels” (ok, who has ever said those two words in the same sentence before, raise your hand) as they attempt to influence humans to do right by one another. I’m afraid they might need more than six episodes to accomplish their lofty goal.

Principle shooting begins in February 2011 for broadcast in late 2011. If this is anything like previous co-pro’s between Kudos and Monastic Productions (Pharoah’s and Graham’s company), this will be something to keep an eye on.
