With last night’s premiere of Ashes to Ashes on KERA-TV in North Texas, the obvious question of the day is Ford Cortina or Audi Quattro.

Life on Mars has ended and Sam Tyler (John Simm) and the Ford Cortina are long gone. Be strong LOM fans. DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister), DS Ray Carling (Dean Andrews) and DC Chris Skelton (Marshall Lancaster) all return in the LOM sequel, Ashes to Ashes, with newcomers Alex Drake (Keeley Hawes) and the hero car of the 80’s, the Audi Quattro. Alex Drake steps in front of a bullet much like Sam Tyler met a speeding car taking her back to 1981 and the world of DCI Gene Hunt.
