With Sunday, 25 December, marking the return of the British situation comedy, Absolutely Fabulous, on BBC One, Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon have finally broken their 20-year silence and agreed to speak out on the Kardashians. If I’m not mistaken, this now completes the cycle to where everyone on the planet has uttered their names at some point in time.

Jennifer Saunders (Edina), Joanna Lumley (Patsy), Julia Sawalha (Saffy), June Whitfield (Mother) and Jane Horrocks (Bubble) all return in the continuation of an all-too-familiar story. Eddy is still a fad/fashion conscious PR guru boasting only two clients, Lulu and Baby Spice, while Patsy is still ‘working in magazines’. Saffy continues to be hardworking, hated and ignored and, surprisingly, Bubble is still employed. Don’t know much about the upcoming three specials that begin on Sunday in the UK with a January 8, 2012 broadcast in the States, but word is that the London 2012 Olympics will be involved at some point.
