Hey DS Khan, “What’s in your rucksack?”

Unforgotten boasts a stellar cast with Nicola Walker (MI5, Last Tango in Halifax, Scott & Bailey) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Kumars at No. 42) taking the lead roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan, the modern day police team who gradually unravel deep-rooted and long-forgotten secrets.

American viewers are currently in the middle of series 2, which consists of 3 parts with part 2 airing this Sunday on PBS. Series 2 focuses on the murder of David Walker, a Conservative Party consultant who disappeared in 1990, whose remains are found in a suitcase buried in the River Lea. Cassie and Sunny are assigned the case and try to identify the victim through his watch and pager. Fans of the current PBS Masterpiece series, Unforgotten, have but one question, however, which is still somewhat of a cold case itself. That is until Sanjeev Bhaskhar, himself, revealed the answer recently.

Ever wonder what DS Khan carries around in his rucksack?

ITV recently announced that a third series has been commissioned with Neil Morrissey (Line of Duty), Alex Jennings (Victoria, The Crown), James Fleet (Vicar of Dibley) and Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean) joining the cast as a group of close-knit friends who come under suspicion from DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan when a body is found at a building site off the M1 motorway, a body that has been missing since the turn of the millennium.

Unforgotten S2 continues Sunday, May 13 at 9pET/8pCT on PBS.
