Move over Sherlock and Mycroft, ‘Enola Holmes’ is on the case.

While the creation of a younger Holmes sister might raise a few eyebrows among Sherlock purists, the first trailer for Enola Holmes – which imagines a younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes setting her off on her own adventure – looks, if nothing else, like a lot of fun. On the upside, we seem […]

Mycroft Holmes wishes a happy 10th to baby brother, Sherlock…sort of.

25 July, 2010 was a day that shall live in telly infamy. Happy Thanksgiving from Tellyspotting!

I think, in my head, I have wanted (or, threatened) to do this since we began this little British blog experiment on October 1, 2009. There are so many things to be thankful, not only during Thanksgiving, but every day of every year. For today, however, here are a few additional folks that have not only given me something to write about for the last decade but have given us all endless laughter, tense drama and heart-pounding mysteries for more years than the law should allow.

From the mind palaces of ‘Sherlock’ creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, comes ‘Dracula’

Based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel of the same name, the mind palaces of Sherlock co-creators, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have teamed up with Hartswood Films for Dracula, the 3-part BBC/Netflix series that digs deep into the undead life of the vampire that single-handedly made evil sexy. In addition to it being a bit of a Sherlock reunion of […]

Douglas Adams’ “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” headed for American re-make

Douglas Adams’ comedy sci-fi classic The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is headed for an American television remake. The brilliant British staple originated as a comedy radio series in 1978, became a hugely successful series of novels and, subsequently, a classic 6-part television series for BBC2 in 1981. According to Deadline, it will be developed for an American audience by Carlton Cuse (Lost, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Bates Motel, Locke & Key) and feature writer Jason Fuchs.
