• Agatha Raisin’s Ashley Jensen heads north to join the cast of ‘Shetland’

Scottish-born Ashley Jensen (May to December, Eastenders, Ugly Betty, After Life, Extras) who stars as the middle-aged public relations agent who sold her Mayfair public relations firm and fled London for the supposedly peaceful cobblestone streets of the Cotswolds and early retirement in Agatha Raisin, is headed north to Scotland to take over for DI Jimmy Perez […]

  • Capping off the KERA British Telly Tour with a trip to ‘Dibley’ and Bletchley Park!

Taking absolutely nothing away from our stops earlier in the week touring filming locations for Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle), Poldark (Chavenage House), Midsomer Murders (Dorchester-on-Thames), Inspector Morse/Lewis/Endeavour (Oxfordshire) and Agatha Raisin (Biddestone), the final day of the KERA British Telly Tour before returning to London may have been the best of all with a stop in Turville, yet another picturesque small English village (thankfully, no murders have occured there to my knowledge) for a behind-the-scenes look at the Vicar of Dibley and then on to Bletchley Park (Bletchley Circle) for a glimpse at the brilliant work that came out of the minds of the roughly 9000 men and women that worked tirelessly to end World War II .

  • Tempting fate, the ‘KERA British Telly Tour’ heads to Oxfordshire for a date with Inspector Morse, Lewis and Endeavour!

The KERA Great British Telly Tour headed to Oxford on Thursday for an Inspector Morse, Lewis and  Endeavour walking tour of the hallowed halls of the 39 colleges that make up Oxford University (16 of the colleges were actually featured in the Inspector Morse series alone!). Named the 'fictional murder capital of England' for obvious reasons, Oxford proved to be a treasure trove of information, partly in just learning how the University system works.

Being able to experience the more than familiar locations used […]

  • ‘Death in Paradise’ adds new crop of ‘victims/suspects’ for S11

Tamzin Outhwaite (New Tricks, Eastenders, Ridley Road) Nicholas Bailey (Sally4Ever), Jason Done (Waterloo Road), Ben Onwuke (Safe) and Ben Starr (Jamestown) join Death In Paradise for series 11. In addition to it being a bit hazardous to your health to live in a small English village, kudos to the DIP creator/writer, Robert Thorogood, for continuing to find some ingenious ways to kill off visitors to the picturesque fictional Carribean island of Saint Marie.

  • ‘Agatha Raisin’ set to make the Cotswolds safe for another series in 2022

With series 3 of Agatha Raisin resting somewhat comfortably in our collective rearview mirrors since this past Summer, rumors of a series 4 are now officially confirmed by Sky One and Acorn TV. Starring Ashley Jensen as the titular amateur detective, four more feature-length stories of the crime-based comedy drama have been ordered. Filming has been on hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic but word out of the UK is that series 4 will officially begin production in March, with a target transmission date in late 2021 or early 2022.
