Happy 75th, Dame Dench
I don’t know about you, but there’s something about Dame Judi Dench turning 75 on Wednesday, December 9 and, simultaneously, the same week, being asked to appear in an upcoming Black Eyed Peas video that’s pretty darn cool. Seems as though after striking up a close friendship with singer Fergie during the filming of the upcoming film, Nine, WILL.I.AM and the rest of the band thought this would be a great idea for the Grammy-nominated group.
Let’s see, Oscar winner, multiple BAFTA winner (TV and Film), multiple Golden Globe winner, Tony winner, multiple Screen Actor’s Guild award winner, six Laurence Olivier awards for her London stage work, not to mention, 007’s boss, M. Looks like someone better make room for the MTV Music Video award that might come your way in the not-too-distant future.
Of course, what can’t be overlooked from a career standpoint, are the years of enjoyment shared with public television viewers from both A Fine Romance, with late husband, Michael Williams, and As Time Goes By, with Geoffrey Palmer, in addition to both last year’s Cranford and the upcoming sequel, Return to Cranford, scheduled for broadcast on PBS stations nationwide beginning Sunday, January 10, 2010.
Have a great day on Wednesday. Take the day off on public television.
