Dibley lunches, Brussels Sprout eating contest and an 80's holiday music classic

As we leave Christmas lunch #1 with Jim and Frank, our Dibley Christmas celebration continues with lunch #2 with David and Hugo. Your traditional Christmas lunch. Pasta, fish, turkey and then the annual brussels sprout eating contest. For some reason, all I could think of was Paul Newman, Cool Hand Luke and eggs.

Finally, the freshly crowned brussels sprout winner crawls her way to Christmas lunch #3 with Alice, her mother (owner of the greatest line of the show…”You ‘ave, ‘ave you?”) and Alice’s sister. Geraldine survives until Owen appears on the doorstep. Don’t miss part four tomorrow…

Our British music holiday wishes continue courtesy of Irish singer, Bob Geldof, who put together this 1984 gathering of some of the greatest UK and Irish singers of the ’80’s including Sting, Phil Collins, George Michael and Bono to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia. Today, Dawn French and Lenny Henry are very active in the cause to end African poverty and famine relief with their work on Comic Relief and Red Nose Day in the UK.

And here I was thinking about brussel sprouts for Christmas dinner. . . maybe not. These clips from the Vicar have been a wonderful holiday gift; a little daily stress reliever in the midst of a very busy season. I can hardly wait for tomorrow. Thank you!
