Dawn French talks Dibley

Another tip of the hat to Dawn French, just because we can. Dawn French is a comic genius. Originally introduced to KERA audiences in French & Saunders, a top-notch sketch show with longtime friend and comedy partner, Jennifer Saunders, then Murder Most Horrid which creatively spoofed thriller and murder mysteries and, finally, perhaps her most endearing british comedy role, Geraldine Granger, in The Vicar of Dibley. For some more great Dawn French moments not readily seen in the U.S., check out Wild West, Jam and Jerusalem and, from the 80’s, Girls on Top.

In this Live at the Morpeth 2008 interview from CultureCritic in the UK, Dawn talks about how the Vicar came to be and how she and longtime friend, writer Richard Curtis researched the role and the series, and also shares some of her own thoughts on religion.
