Not the Messiah, just a very naughty boy

NTM_gallery3What do you get when you put crazy Cambridge and Oxford graduates in Royal Albert Hall? Don’t know? How about if you add in the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus AND three sheep? Still no clue?  Well you get comic genius from the minds of Eric Idle and John du Prez, the masterminds behind Spamalot. This time they set their sights on Monty Python’s Life of Brian. Back in October, the only European performance of Not the Messiah was recorded to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

If you weren’t there that fateful day in October, now is your chance to experience the evening in all its’ cinematic glory RAH5.JPGif you find yourself in the UK or one of 14 other countries on Thursday, 25 March. For one night only, cinemas all over Europe will be showing the Not the Messiah performance starring not only Idle, but Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, Carol Cleveland and a host of others. One question. Why not the United States? They’re even getting it in Serbia and Croatia, again, why not the U.S.?

If you weren’t there in October, maybe this will help. Words to definitely live by…

We can only hope it crosses the pond some time soon. Remember, it’s like Handel only funnier.
