Deep thinking with Stephen Fry

If you don’t know about this site or the folks at Big Think, you need to. It’s not only very timely, but very cool. This from the “About Us” section on their homepage.

Big Think is a global forum connecting people and ideas. We do not believe that experts have all the answers. On many subjects deep thinkers disagree. We do believe that we will all make better decisions in our personal and professional lives if our thinking is informed by expert opinion.

Stephen_fry_mainTheir recent interview with British actor, comedian, writer and columnist, Stephen Fry, is brilliant. Topics run the gamut from “what keeps Stephen Fry up at night” to his “worst career advice”. Aside from learning that one of his heroes is Oscar Wilde and, growing up, he loved reading Sherlock Holmes, the portion of the interview devoted to “the importance of unbelief” and his “idea of greatness” are more than worth your time. The other cool thing about the site is that each interview is chapter-ized (if that’s a word) along with a discussion area for each subject.

To set the table for the entire interview, Fry talks briefly about his quintessential English upbringing and the importance of laughter. The rest of the interview can be found by clicking here.
