Don't like Shakespeare? You might after this…

images-1Seemed like an appropriate way to both celebrate St. George’s Day and remember William Shakespeare on the 394th anniversary of his death by throwing out an early alert to everyone to watch or DVR the upcoming Great Performances presentation of Hamlet on PBS and KERA. This Royal Shakespeare Company adaptation, starring David Tennant and Sir Patrick Stewart, can be seen across the United States on PBS, Wednesday, April 28 at 8:00p ET (7:00p CT on KERA in North Texas).

Before you say, seen it, read the Cliff Notes or don’t want to see it, read on. This is good stuff. Winner of the 2009 Olivier Award, this is a contemporary adaptation of the story we all know, but the star power and edginess make it well worth your time.

If that’s not enough to sell you on it, Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Laurie give you a great primer for the Wednesday, April 28 broadcast of Hamlet on PBS and KERA. Happy St. George’s Day to all and to all a good night.
