10/10/10 = 42

Happy 42 Day, albeit, one day late. For those in the know, October 10, 2010 (aka, 10/10/10) was celebrated across the globe yesterday by fans of the science fiction series, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Created by the late, great Douglas Adams, the short-lived, but brilliant, radio and television series is widely known for providing us with the answer to the ultimate question of ‘life, the universe and everything’, which is 42.

Fans have long been looking forward to the date of 10/10/10, which is 42 expressed in the binary number system. According to BBC News, fans in Edinburgh boarded the city’s #42 bus with additional celebratory events around the world, including Moscow, Los Angeles, Paris and London. It was hard to tell, but even Marvin got in to it.

Organized by the official Hitchhiker’s fan club, ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha (duh!), plans are already underway for the next 42 Day, which will be here before you know it, on October 10, 2110. See you there!
