Hugh Dennis' MI-5 job interview

Imagine your the son of a Bishop, a member of the Cambridge Footlights, did stand-up improv at places like the London Comedy Store and, later, your an impressionist doing voices for the Spitting Images series. Then, imagine you’re approached by a plain-clothed individual, while at University, who asks, “….interested in a job in intelligence“? You’re then told, if interested, to apply at an unmarked house in Piccadilly.

Sounds like a great bit to base a lot of stand-up comedy around. But, then, as Hugh Dennis (Punt and DennisMy Hero, Mock the Week, Outnumbered) recalls in this interview with BBC Radio 5’s Richard Bacon, just what was it about him that screamed “spy material”?
