If the producers of the American version of Ricky Gervais’ The Office have their way, the brilliance of Catherine Tate will take over for Steve Carell (Michael Scott) as head of Dunder Miffin. The only thing that could stand in the way would be a schedule conflict as Tate will be appearing on stage this summer in Much Ado About Nothing with David Tennant. Tate and Tennant last appeared together in Doctor Who with Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Tate as the Doctor’s companion, Donna Noble.

Going to be a tough choice as Tate is up against the resumes of Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey and Ray Romano to head Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, but I think she’d be perfect.
