Ashes to Ashes, Spooks, Downton Abbey and more….

Need an Audi Quattro? Going once, going twice….

Ok, maybe not THE Audi Quattro, but some of the set pieces from the brilliant BBC series, Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes starring Philip Glenister will go on the auction block this coming Friday, 23 September at the Merlin Theatre in Somerset. DCI Hunt, himself, along with Dean Andrews (Det Sgt Ray Carling) will man the hammer to raise funds to benefit the local community theatre.

Downton Abbey 2 premiere fails to disappoint….

While Downton Abbey and HBO’s Mildred Pierce battled Sunday eve at the Emmy Awards in the U.S. (Downton Abbey won, btw), there was an even bigger battle Sunday night in the UK as the premiere of Downton Abbey 2 went head to head at 9:00pm with the premiere of the final season of Spooks (MI5. DA scored a knockout blow with initial numbers of 9.3 million viewers to 4.6 million for Spooks. Hindsight is 20/20, but I’m guessing the BBC might be rethinking their move of the brilliant Spooks from Monday to Sunday after this.

In the U.S. and can’t wait until April 2012?

Find yourself outside the UK and experiencing a little Spooks (MI5) separation anxiety? Not to worry. Word is the Spooks series 10 DVD release date is set for November 28th 2011. You can pre-order here through Amazon UK. Reminder, this will be a region 2 DVD so will not play outside Europe unless you have a multi-region DVD player. It will also play on a laptop if you change the region first. If you can wait until April 2012, just a reminder that the final season of MI5 will air on public television stations across the U.S. beginning around that time.
