Rev returns tonight on BBC 2

At long last, it’s time for everyone in the UK to return to the inner-city world of St Saviour’s in East London beginning tonight, Thursday, 10 November at 2100 on BBC2. Reverend Adam Smallbone (Tom Hollander) is back in Rev, along with Alex, his long-suffering solicitor wife, Colin, Mick and the entire motley congregation en tow for a sophomore season of the hit comedy.

The second season brilliantly builds upon the critically acclaimed first season with Adam spending even more of his time dealing with the financial hardships of a decaying St Saviour edifice, a dwindling congregation and endless moral conflicts that confront him daily.

How can you go wrong with a series that, originally, had the ‘blessing’ of the Archbishop of Canterbury who called the series, “…really rather good“. Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury went on to say,  that the series “revealed something about the continuing commitment of the church to run down and challenging areas” as well as depicting someone who “prays honestly”.

For U.S. readers of tellyspotting, there’s a good possibility of Rev coming to a public television stations near you in early 2012.
