The TARDIS lands in the Big Apple

Besides May 6, 2012, which is the PBS premiere of Sherlock 2 in the States, all eyes will soon be fixed on a yet to be determined Fall 2012 premiere date in both the UK and the U.S. for the new season of Doctor Who.

Worldwide anticipation (and angst) is always at peak levels leading up to a new season of Doctor Who, but the upcoming ‘7th series’ will be just a tad bit higher due to the departure of Amy and Rory. Oh yeah, there’s also the introduction of a new companion, to be played by Jenna-Louise Coleman for fans to contend with. As the most ardent of fans are already keenly aware, the TARDIS has left their western-themed episode filming in Almeria, Spain and has now landed in New York City for more location filming.

Unfortunately, living in the world of the Internets, as we do, rumors and spoilers are rampant. As mentioned earlier, it’s common knowledge that this series will see the end of Amy and Rory, the introduction of a new companion and there will be Weeping Angels. Now, however, comes the rumor that River Song (Alex Kingston) will be there to say goodbye to Amy in 1940’s NYC. Showrunner Steven Moffat recently said, “Not everyone gets out alive and I mean it this time.”
