A London West End return for Rowan Atkinson

Unfortunately, it’s not Blackadder V or Mr. Bean III but the good news is that Rowan Atkinson will perform the title role in Simon Gray’s ‘Quartermaine’s Terms‘ running 23 January through 13 April 2013.

The play, which is set in Cambridge in the 1960s English language school for foreigners and centers around the friendly but inadequate teacher, St. John Quartermaine (Atkinson), who wrestles with his own thoughts of confusion as he helps sort out his colleagues’ problems, will be at Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End from January 2013. It will also do short runs leading up to the West End opening with previews at Theatre Royal Brighton beginning 8 January and Theatre Royal Bath beginning on 14 January.

It’s been 25 years since Atkinson has appeared in a play so, never say never, when it comes to the possibility of another set of either Blackadder or Mr. Bean. C’mon, what do you say, Rowan? It would be greatness.

I would love to see that.  Glad Rowan is staying active.
