Inspector Lewis; Tonight's PBS 'Masterpiece'
A little extra something must be in the water over at the PBS Masterpiece world control center. Consider for a minute that, just this past year, the series has showcased the likes of Downton Abbey, Great Expectations, Birdsong, Upstairs Downstairs, Case Histories, Page Eight, Endeavor and Inspector Lewis. It just keeps getting better and better with new episodes of Upstairs Downstairs, Downton Abbey and Sherlock in the foreseeable future along with Silk, new episodes of Case Histories and Endeavor in the works.
In the immediate future, however, it’s time to turn our attention to Inspector Lewis. The first of four new episodes premiere tonight and run through July 29 on PBS. Hopefully, you were able to catch the pre-Inspector Morse one-off, Endeavor, last week which set the stage brilliantly for the next four weeks of a present day Inspector Lewis. Kevin Whately (Inspector Lewis) and Laurence Fox (Detective Sergeant Hathaway) again find themselves dealing with murder and mayhem in the academic world of Oxford while trying to adjust to a new DI.
