While UK audiences are already experiencing a bit of Poldark separation anxiety given that series 2 ended this past Sunday, American audiences can still feel good about the fact there are still 3 weeks to go before we say farewell to the Cornish coastline for a bit. In an attempt to appease fans of the British period drama who find themselves with nothing to watch this coming Sunday, the BBC treated viewers to a brief teaser for series 3 immediately following Sunday’s series 2 finale.
If you’re watching on PBS, please exercise either restraint or, if you choose to watch the teaser trailer, caution as there may be a few spoilers and a few new faces (including a sex-crazed vicar and Demelza’s brothers) popping up in the trailer. Not to worry, there’s still plenty of Ross and Demelza, Ross and Elizabeth and an anxious-looking George to keep you grounded until the new series begins. Surprisingly, UK fans might not have to wait too long as there are highly unsubstantiated rumors that the next series could come as early as Spring 2017 so as to avoid another head-to-head confrontation with series 2 of ITV’s Victoria. Until then….enjoy.
Poldark S3 will premiere sometime in 2017 on BBC One and PBS.
