‘Agatha Raisin’ set to make the Cotswolds streets safe once again as series 4 is commissioned
As series 3 is set to premiere next Wednesday on Sky One in the UK, the British Comedy Guide has revealed that a fourth series of Agatha Raisin has been confirmed and will go into production when restrictions put in place during the coronavirus pandemic are lifted.
Ashley Jensen will return in the title role as the middle-aged public relations agent who sold her public relations firm in Mayfair, fleeing London for the supposedly peaceful cobblestone streets of the Cotswolds and early retirement. Little did she know at the time that the fictional towns of Carsely and Mircester are lightning rods for murder it seems. Having spent several weeks in Morten-in-Marsh and Chipping Camden a few years back, it’s clear now that I was lucky to get out of there alive.
While there has been nothing leaked about series 4 as of yet, series 3 will welcome guest stars James Dreyfuss (Gimme Gimme Gimme), Gerry McLaughlin (Burnistoun) and actor, model and singer Patsy Kensit. One fairly significant cast change from series 2 has Jodie Tyack (The Feed) joining the cast for the four-story/8 episode run (Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House, Agatha Raisin and the Deadly Dance, Agatha Raisin and the Love from Hell and Agatha Raisin As the Pig Turns) playing Toni Gilmour, replacing Katy Wix’s Gemma Simpson as Agatha’s sidekick.
Based on the novels by M.C. Beaton, the 3rd series of Agatha Raisin will premiere Wednesday, 10 June on Sky One with series 4 already a sure thing….someday.
