At long last, THE podcast you been waiting for that digs deep and goes behind-the-scenes into the long-running British mystery series, Midsomer Murders!, is here.

The Midsomer Murders Mayhem podcast will take a deep dive into the history of the hit television show while discussing the eternal question of how such a quaint county in England can be host to so many murders and such a staggering death toll.

Hosted by Nicki Chapman (Escape to the Country, The RHS Chelsea Flower Show) with insights from the cast, each episode of the podcast focuses on a single episode of the television series. Special guest Scottish comedian Ashley Storrie (Dinosaur) features as a regular guest and host of the superfan quiz, with contestants found from the wonderful Midsomer Murders Facebook site.

Why am I over-the-top excited about this? Well, for one, I absolutely love Midsomer Murders and, two, I had the great good fortune to be involved along the way as a series guest on a number of episodes along with professional detectives, pathologists and crime-scene experts who will share their insights and opinions into the eternal appeal of the attractive, yet surprisingly lethal drama, which has seen cheese and washing machines used as murders weapons.

Midsomer Murders Mayhem, the official podcast you’ve been waiting for, globally launches today. Take a listen wherever you get your podcasts or go to podfollow.com/mayhem.

In this all-access podcast, we examine the series one nail biting episode at a time. We’ll hear from our two Inspector Barnabys, the production team will be sharing their secrets and you can see how your own Midsomer knowledge stacks up in the superfan face-off quiz.

FYI, in the first episode of the official Midsomer Murders podcast which drops today, we go all the way back to the beginning when living in Midsomer seemed pretty safe as host Nicki Chapman focuses on the Midsomer Murders series pilot, “The Killings at Badger’s Drift” where an elderly woman is found dead in her own cottage and DCI Tom Barnaby is convinced the death is not a simple accident.

Come along for the ride, it’s going to be brilliant if you’ve been a fan of Midsomer Murders for 24 seasons or if you just hopped on the bandwagon recently. #midsomermurdersmayhem
