Lego Shaun of the Dead anyone?
From the department of too good to pass up….as I began writing this, the CUUSOO team over at Lego were in need of about 5,000 supporters in order to create a Lego set for the great Simon Pegg / Edgar Wright zombie invasion comedy film, Shaun of the Dead. The Make the Winchester project is the brainchild of Pixel Fox, a 3D artist in Cape Town, and Yatkuu, a Data Manager for pharmaceutical company in Belguim, both proudly share a long-time common passion for the brick.
As the story goes, LEGO will only consider the manufacturing of an individual set if over 10,000 people will pledge to be the next person on the block to purchase ‘before midnight tonight’. Needless to say, with the full support of Edgar Wright, not to mention a well-timed appearance by Simon Pegg on Conan O’Brien, the needed 10K was achieved in about 2.4 seconds (note: about 3:40 in to clip below, after brief discussion on how Pegg loves to torture his Twitter followers).
There are few things you run across that seem like no-brainers. This would be one and I already have to have one this holiday season. Anyone else?
