Demons await as final episode title announced for ‘Sherlock’ S4
“The roads we walk have demons beneath, and yours have been waiting for a very long time…”
Ever since co-creators/writers, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, began to conceive of the upcoming 4th series of Sherlock, they have continued to hint at and/or promise a much darker place for Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock this time around. From the looks of the newest trailer released this past weekend, they are more than ready to fulfill their promise with a Sherlock about to face his demons.
Filled with burning buildings, guns, what looks to be John trapped down a well and an appearance from highly disturbed and/or disturbing new villain Culverton Smith (Toby Jones), the new set of three films which are set to premiere on BBC1 and PBS on New Year’s Day will be well worth the wait.
Title for Sherlock S4, Ep3 announced…”The Final Problem”
The 4th series, which has been called ‘brutal’ by all involved, has just released the episode title for the third and final episode the series. “The Final Problem”. Fans of the world’s most famous consulting detective will immediately recognize the title as being the story that originally killed off Holmes before he was brought back due to public outcry.
While rumors of this being the final episode of the Sherlock franchise have set the Internets hair on fire for some time, it’s hard to imagine it truly being the final episode given the worldwide success it has achieved since it premiered in 2010. It may not be truly the end, but conventional wisdom seems to suggest that it will probably be longer than the traditional two years between series the next time around.
Sherlock S4 begins with “The Six Thatchers” on New Year’s Day at 8:30pm on BBC1 and 9pET/8pCT on PBS.
