Are you ready for some Poldark before September return?
On the heels of last weeks announcement that the PBS premiere date for the second series of Poldark will be Sunday, September 25, the BBC has announced the UK premiere will be Sunday, September 4 on BBC1. It’s time to talk some Poldark, don’t you think? Given the already released details about the series 2 story line, the sophomore series seems to be a bit on the darker side as compared to last year’s premiere. Based on early reports, it will definitely be a roller coaster ride that could make you forget all about the reality that Downton Abbey is an ex-series.

Without giving away too many S2 spoilers, as you can probably guess, Ross and Demelza will face their toughest challenges to date, a predictable conflict between Ross and George Warleggan is more or less guaranteed while Ross continues to do everything he can to make the mines profitable.
One possibility is that Ross will work with cousin Francis to open a mine that will be completely outside George’s control. And, for those that have been binge-watching series 1 over and over since it concluded, season 2 will start off where season 1 ended with Ross headed to prison after being arrested for murder. I think George would love nothing more than to see Ross behind bars or even worse.
“It’s a time when Ross and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) have just lost their child, his company is down the pan, they’re broke, and he’s been arrested. It looks like he’s going to prison. It’s a cheery beginning!, said Turner about the upcoming second series.
Poldark S2 premieres September 4 on BBC1 and September 25 on PBS.
