North Norfolk’s finest returns to BBC One in ‘This Time with Alan Partridge’
Fresh off his brilliant performance as Stan Laurel in the Laurel and Hardy biopic Stan & Ollie, Steve Coogan resurrects his much-loved character in This Time with Alan Partridge on BBC One.
Alan Partridge, North Norfolk’s finest, returns to take on the temporary gig of a lifetime as the stand-in co-host of an evening weekday magazine show.
It’s the character’s first foray into live television since the demise of his ’90s chat show Knowing Me, Knowing You. It’s been a few years north of two decades since the abrupt yet understandable cancellation: On what had started out as a relatively harmless evening, Partridge used a bit of poor judgement by fatally shooting a guest dead on his chat show.
Partridge used his cancellation to immediately shun what he perceived as the outdated concept of television and went on to host Mid-Morning Matters, a North Norfolk digital web series, securing the fourth best time slot.

This Time with Alan Partridge
Armed with a sudden severe case of dry-mouth, Partridge will be joining his female co-presenter Jennie Gresham (Susannah Fielding) on the sofa after her usual sidekick is hospitalized following a heart attack.
The new series will also see a return for Tim Key as Simon “formerly Sidekick Simon” Denton, who appeared in Partridge’s Sky Atlantic shows Mid Morning Matters and the film Alpha Papa. Felicity Montagu will also return as Alan’s assistant Lynn.
This Time with Alan Partridge is coming soon to BBC One.
