It’s a steamier ‘Poldark’ coming to PBS and BBC One

In 1975, Robin Ellis captivated audiences on both sides of the pond with his brilliant portrayal of the dashing British officer, Captain Ross Poldark in Poldark. Now, 40 years later, the BBC and PBS are giving the series a bit of a steamier 21st century reboot with a new television adaptation based on the novels of […]

How Benedict Cumberbatch became Smaug the Dragon

At last night’s BAFTA awards, the brilliant acting performance of Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game lost out to the equally as brilliant acting performance of Eddie Redmayne as theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, in The Theory of Everything. Worlds collide when SNL visits ‘A Hobbit Office’

When Martin Freeman (The Office, Hobbit, Sherlock, Fargo) stepped onto the 30 Rock stage to host Saturday Night Live this past weekend, it almost reminded me of my university days when SNL was so good, you didn’t even think about going out on Saturday night until it was over. I have to believe that if you watched Jeopardy, and the contestant took “Actors and Actresses for $200”, Alex Trebek would then read out the word No and the only possible correct “question” to the answer would be “Is there anything that Benedict Cumberbatch cannot do“? From his small screen brilliance in Sherlock and Parade’s […]

First pics from FX's 'Fargo' starring Martin Freeman

Unfortunately, the initial thought of the possibility of a small-screen remake of the classic Coen Brothers film, Fargo, gave me the same chill I experienced at the age of 10 when I first tried semi-warm, boiled Brussels sprouts. Fortunately, both chills have since passed after discovering the taste sensation of roasting Brussell sprouts with pine […]
