Fry and Laurie Reunited – tonight on UKTV Gold

Nothing to do Wednesday night, 24 November? Fear not. You do now if you happen to be one of our very fortunate readers that live in the UK. 9:00p tonight on UKTV Gold, the 90 minutes we’ve all been waiting for for some time — Fry and Laurie Reunited. It was a mere 30 years ago this Fall that Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie crossed paths at Cambridge University, introduced by mutual friend and equally as talented, the great Emma Thompson. Having gone on to individual successes, the former British comedy duo reminisce about some of their favorite sketches, respective careers and their lifelong friendship.

As our friends over at the British Comedy Guide note in their review, the greatest moment may not be in the multitude of classic clips or the candid conversation between the two comedy greats, but might actually come right at the end of the reunion when they point out neither have actually ruled out doing another series of A Bit Of Fry & Laurie.

Would love to hear from anyone that sees it and can share comments. In this case, spoilers welcome. BTW, if you missed Wednesdays broadcast, it will be repeated on Saturday, 27 November at 10:20p on UKTV Gold. We can only hope that the show will find its way to public television in America in the not-too-distant future. Anyone interested in seeing? Also, anyone that wants to record a DVD copy and send my way, it’s ok with me, just so you know.

For those outside the UK, here are a couple of clips to tide you over until it makes it your way….Enjoy!
