Rucksack and all, ‘Unforgotten’ will return for a 4th series

Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar as DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil Sunny Khan in Unforgettable

With the third series of the brilliant ITV series, Unforgotten, starring Nicola Walker (MI5, Last Tango in Halifax, Scott & Bailey) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Kumars at No. 42) taking the lead roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan, on the PBS Masterpiece horizon in 2019, word out of the UK is that the modern day police team has been commissioned and will return for a fourth series to solve another cold case.

Unforgotten creator/writer and Executive Producer Chris Lang said: “I am so delighted to have been asked to make a fourth series of Unforgotten. The reaction to series 3 was better than I could ever have expected (with more people watching the last episode than any other in all three series) and I cannot wait to discover what lies ahead for Cassie and Sunny, and to create a whole new cast of characters for them to grapple with.”

For series 3, which was both critically acclaimed and very well received from an audience standpoint when transmitted recently in the UK, Neil Morrissey (Line of Duty), Alex Jennings (Victoria, The Crown), James Fleet (Vicar of Dibley) and Kevin McNally (Pirates of theCaribbean) will join the cast as a group of close-knit friends who come under suspicion from DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan when a body is found at a building site off the M1 motorway, a body that has been missing since the turn of the millennium.
