Celebrate Christmas at Nonnatus House with the new ‘Call the Midwife Holiday Special’

While the final episode of series 4 of Call the Midwife wasn’t a complete bed of roses, the forthcoming Christmas Day special which officially kicks off the 5th series is about a 3-box of kleenex watch this year.

Things are quite well at Nonnatus House this Christmas season. The halls don’t seem to be quite as decked as they have in years past and Sister Monica Joan looks like she’s in trouble. Fred does, however, put on his Santa suit for Father Christmas’s annual trip to Poplar, while Shelagh promises to put on a show to be proud of as cameras start rolling in the local church. Things were looking up what with Chummy returning towards the end of series 4. After all, what would a holiday special be without Chummy?

Call the Midwife returns for a Christmas special on Christmas Day at 7:30pm on BBC1 and on PBS.
