After successfully navigating (a.k.a. avoiding) the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone, Tellyspotting began day one in Windsor on the 2024 KERA/Transcendent Travel Iconic British Classics Tour of England. In addition to it being a bit hazardous to your health to live in a small English village, it appears that visiting the picturesque fictional Carribean island of Saint Marie is no less dangerous.
Death in Paradise creator/writer, Robert Thorogood, will continue to find a few more ingenious ways to kill off said visitors as the BBC announced that the series has been comissioned for 2 additional series (S13 and 14). In addition, two feature-length Christmas special episodes are also on their way beginning in December 2023.

Most fans of any television series are satisfied enough to just buy the entire series on DVD. Some may visit the town where a favorite series was filmed such as Port Isaac (Doc Martin), Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine) or, on my personal bucket list travel destination, Portmeirion (The Prisoner). For some lucky buyer, Edmund Ramsdale took his love of a certain British comedy series to not just the next level but far beyond that.

Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t get any worse, news out of ITV and Buffalo Pictures, the production team behind the hugely successful ITV drama Doc Martin, has confirmed that the next series (series 10), which begins filming in 2021, will be the final installment in the life of the grumpy Cornish GP with a bedside manner that made Dr. Gregory House look like Dr. Marcus Welby.

Season 9 will be a challenging one for both Martin and Louisa. The Doc’s career hangs in the balance with his future as a GP under scrutiny from the General Medical Council following complaints about his rather brusque approach to patients.
