Armed with a mission to find the missing, ‘Baptiste’ returns this Fall to PBS Masterpiece

Tchéky Karyo returns as retired detective Julien Baptiste when series 2 of Baptiste premieres this Fall on PBS Masterpiece. The long-awaited psychological crime drama was slowed by COVID restrictions earlier this year but returns to BBC One this Sunday. Swapping Amsterdam’s red light district from series 1 for the woody mountains of Hungary for his next case, Baptiste has an uncanny knack for finding the missing.

Surprise! There’s more death in paradise on the horizon as ‘Death in Paradise’ begins filming S11

Series 11 of Death in Paradise has begun filming on on the beautiful island of Guadeloupe. While little is known, at this point, other than there will be more death in paradise, what is known is who’s back and who’s not for the newest set of whodunit’s on the fictional island of Saint Marie. No self-respecting animal lover will ever forget Isis and Pharoah, the two 4-legged companions that were forever by Lord Grantham’s side in Downton Abbey or the majestic visual of Seamus riding up and down the Cornish coast in Poldark with Captain Ross Poldark at the helm or Queen Victoria’s beloved Dash, always at the young Queen’s side in Victoria. To celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, my thoughts immediately turned to the fictional English county of Midsomer and one of its most recognized residents, Sykes. It was a sad day back in September 2016 when one of the most beloved TV dogs since Lassie announced his retirement from Midsomer Murders. Sykes, John Barnaby’s beloved pet dog, hung up his lead following series 15 and retired after five years with the show.

From the time I was first introduced to the acting talents of Walker in her role as DI Susan Taylor in Touching Evil (co-starring with Grantchester‘s Robson Green), followed by her time as Ruth Evershed in Spooks (MI5), guest roles in Luther, Being Human and Inside Men, then her more recent efforts in Scott & Bailey and Last Tango in Halifax, once again I’m convinced she could […]
