‘Call the Midwife’ might just see the 70s after all with 2 more series commissioned!

The BBC has confirmed the news ahead of series 10 premiering on 18 April on BBC1 and with series 11 about to commence filming that audiences will be returning to Poplar for a 12th AND 13th series with the commissioning of two more series beyond those that were commissioned back in 2019. With series 10 taking the Poplar nurses into the late 60s, it will be interesting to see what challenges another decade might throw at them and, more importantly, how Trixie will take to 70s fashion.

Challenges aside, ‘Call the Midwife’ getting ready for home delivery of S10 soon!

While producers of “Call the Midwife” were able to, thankfully, ‘deliver’ the annual Christmas special just in time for Christmas Day 2020, the full season of the drama did not arrive in time for its usual January slot this year thanks to COVID-19 and a five-month production delay. Happy 66th, Rowan Atkinson!

Rowan Atkinson turns 66 today. Thankfully, for us, the comedic genius chose to put neither his degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Newcastle University nor his degree of MSc in Electrical Engineering from The Queen’s College, Oxford to use.
